BECOMING A MOST INSTRUCTOR

- a list of local vendors you can speak with in order to get sponsored (if you aren’t already)
- a list of upcoming coach/instructor courses
- an overview of the course pertaining to times and length of school
- general guidelines of the next steps and list of mentoring requirements prior to the start of the course
The PROCESS
- Candidates for MOST New Instructor Training Courses shall: Complete an interview with the sponsoring CO MOST Vendor if a non-recruited RCP Candidate.
- Submit a completed application and current Colorado driving record.
- Review and submit other course documents required by the curriculum.
- A $150 security deposit collected by the sponsoring CO MOST Vendor provided by the RCP Candidate. Security Deposit check is to be made out to the sponsoring CO MOST Vendor.
- A signed CO MOST Vendor and RCP Candidate Agreement. This is to be signed at the time the security deposit is received by CO MOST Vendor. This agreement is to inform the RCP Candidate that the sponsoring Vendor will return the RCP Candidate’s deposit in full upon successfully teaching two post-graduation training classes for the Sponsoring CO MOST Vendor Candidates who fail to complete the training shall forfeit the deposit to compensate the sponsor and to replace any training materials provided by MOST.
- Obtain First Aid/CRP certification prior to the first day of training and submit proof of completion to the Lead Trainer upon arrival the first day of class.
Applications and all required paperwork on the sponsored RCP Candidate must be received by the CO MOST Project Manager no later than six (6) weeks prior to the start of an RCP. Applications and all required paperwork received later than six weeks prior to the RCP start date will be processed at the CO MOST Program Coordinator’s discretion. Applications and all required paperwork received later than 3 weeks prior to the RCP start date will not be processed and the RCP candidate information will be forwarded to the next available RCP.
Sponsoring CO MOST Vendors are responsible for the pre-training mentorship, tracking, and development of their RCP Candidate(s).
- RCP Candidate must successfully complete a BRC in the relevant training curriculum and any other courses as required by the curriculum within two years prior to the start of the new instructor training course.
- RCP Candidates must perform at a minimum two (2) apprenticeship courses prior to the first day of the RCP. Apprenticeship must include working with an MSF Coach/TC Instructor while performing non-instructional support duties during two BRC’s in their entirety. Therefore, at a minimum 30 hours of apprenticeship duties is required. These duties can include: range set up, demo rides, assisting with class room activities. The Vendor Training Manager or Vendor representative shall provide a debrief letter to the MOST Project Manager outlining the Candidate’s proficiency in non-instructional components.
Complete other pre-course requirements as determined by the curriculum provider or MOST.
Training course graduates shall submit their completed MOST application, driving record, and a copy of their FA/CPR completion card to the MOST Program Coordinator within 30 days of graduation. Applicants may use the same driving record used for the training application if no changes to the record have occurred.
The MOST Program Coordinator will notify applicants and their CO MOST Sponsor of their acceptance into the MOST Program.
- Log into the website to complete a MOST Instructor Application;
- Be at least 21 years old;
- Submit proof of successful completion of a MOST Program Instructor Training Course approved by the CSP;
- Possess a valid driver license issued by the state of Colorado having a Motorcycle endorsement.
- Submit a completed CDOR Form DR2559, Permission for Release of Individual Records, to the MOST Program Office that evidences an acceptable driving record or an MVR for the three (3) year period prior to the application submission date. A driving record will not be found acceptable and an applicant will be determined ineligible:
- If, within the three (3) years prior to the date of the application submission, the license issued to the applicant by the state of Colorado has been revoked or suspended;
- If, within the three (3) years prior to the date of application submission, an applicant has been convicted for an offense assigned eight (8) or more points; or
- If, within the three (3) years prior to the date of the application submission, a driver’s license issued to the applicant from any other state has been revoked or suspended.
- Submit a current CPR card/certification
- Submit all paperwork online through the instructor login.
